Reasons for doing the ride:
Director at Computerworld (Learning & Performance), worked with Jon Osborne for the last 10 years and would like to personally and as a representative of the business Jon started, raise money for this life saving cause.
Cycling experience/miles per day:
Fitness wise I currently run half marathons (Bournemouth – Sept 14 in 2 hours) and m doing the Bath Half in march. I also compete in sprint triathlons and more recently British Cycling Sportives. In November I did a 40 miler and have entered a 100 mile event in Wessex Sussex with a riding buddy in June.
So in summary I run between 30 and 40 miles a week but now need to step up the cycling I add to my training in preparation. I need to buy a turbo trainer also so perhaps I can speak to the guys at Cheddar Cycles to help me!.
I am a keen advocate of keeping fit and am fortunate enough to have the health to be involved in my hobby of half marathons, triathlons, cycling sportitves and last but not least my passion for Bristol City!. With a young family and a challenging job there is no substitute for the quality time these activities provide me in finding a balance in my life. Health therefore is something that unintentionally we all probably take for granted as we are so busy in life. With the recent sad passing of Jon Osborne it has inspired me to raise money to support those families that are not as fortunate as myself and at the same time challenging myself to be part of an adventure that I can look back and be proud of. I hope that this will also act as an inspiration for my 7 year old son Ellis, to find a healthy balance in his life as he gets older.
